Insurance requirements are present in most contractual agreements. The Lone Star College (LSC), Office of Risk Management, encourages a review of all contracts to determine the risks associated with the performance of the contract by outside parties. LSC manages its risk with the proper insurance requirements.
The types of insurance coverage and standard limits required by LSC are described below. LSC reserves the right to increase the minimum acceptable limits of coverage depending upon the activity involved in the contract or service. The size and scope of the contract and the potential risk exposures involved will dictate the minimum limits of coverage required. LSC minimum insurance requirements are divided into the following four (4) groups, indicating typical risk levels:
