Logistics Management involves the planning, implementing, and controlling the flow and storage of goods, services, and related information from point of origin to point of consumption to conform to customers’ requirements. A logistic management course goes over the techniques of organizing and handling inventory within a company with the aid of industry specific software.
The field includes supervisors and/or managers of transportation, storage, and/or distribution; helpers, laborers, and/or hand material movers; and transportation/machine and vehicle material movers.
Logistics offers a wide variety of functional areas as possible directions for career seekers. Some of these are:
- Warehouse operations
- Inventory control – quality control activities
- Traffic or transportation management
- Material handling operations
- Distribution
- Logistics or distribution planning
Students will learn the transporting part of the field. They will get the knowledge of industry software, which helps improve the speed of shipping and receiving, and the machinery used to get the job done.
