Lone Star College-Montgomery Fitness Center Rules are in place to help create a safe and enjoyable environment. LSC-M Fitness Center reserves the right to change rules at any time without prior notification. All signs and information posted on the premises shall also be considered as part of the rules. Any patron who fails to comply with the rules of the fitness center may be asked to leave and/or lose membership privileges. Operational hours, fitness class schedule and format are subject to change without prior notification.
All Fitness Center participants should comply with the Lone Star College’s Board Policy. Visit LoneStar.edu/policy.
- Be respectful and considerate to other members and staff.
- Abstain from the use of loud, abusive, vulgar and profane conversation.
- Fitness Center does not permit any conduct that harasses or is bothersome to members, guests or employees.
- In case of an emergency call 911 for medical assistance. Emergency phones that dial directly to campus police are located in the weight room and aerobic studio room.
- It is recommended that members of the Fitness Center obtain medical clearance from their physician prior to starting any exercise program.
- Provide your own spotter when training with weights.
- Equipment must be used in the manner it was intended.
- Injuries must be reported to staff immediately, and an accident report will be filled out.
LSC-Montgomery Fitness Center employees are not responsible for injuries or accidents that may occur during operational hours or participation in other recreational, fitness activities or events.
- All weights must be removed from bars and replaced in the designated area on appropriate racks when finished.
- Members provide their own work-out towels and clean equipment after use.
- No powdered chalk allowed.
- No backpacks, gym bags, purses, are permitted in the cardio/weight room area. There is designated shelving for small personal items, so please see the locker room section, Personal Items and Lockers, for further details about storage for these materials.
- Treadmills, elliptical, and bicycles in the Fitness Center all have a maximum weight capacity of 350 lbs.
- Members are to be enrolled at Lone Star College-Montgomery for either credit classes, dual credit, ischool High or must be at least 18 years of age to use the Fitness Center.
- If a member is classified as a minor (under the age of 18), a parent or legal guardian must sign the participation release and indemnification agreement form from the Fitness Center.
- Children are not permitted in the Wellness Center facility and there are no childcare services.
- Must be enrolled in a credit class or be 18 years of age.
- Lone Star College retirees, employees and spouses are eligible for a membership.
- Members of the community can visit the Fitness Center located in Building A for membership details.
Fitness Classes Disclaimer
- Please consult with a physician prior to exercise to obtain medical clearance. According to the American Council on Exercise, group exercise is ideally suited for "healthy persons who have no apparent health/physical limitations or special medical needs." Most fitness classes are approximately 1-hour sessions. Class times, formats, and schedule are subject to change. Check Fitness Center Building A location for class updates.
- Members are to check in and out of the Fitness Center using the student/employee/community ID.
- Wear athletic attire, i.e., t-shirts, jogging shorts, sweatpants, and tank tops.
- Fitness attire must keep private body parts covered.
- Clothing with wording on it or graphic T-shirts should also be respectful of our Fitness Center’s conduct rules.
- Shorts/pants or items with sharp embellishments are not to be worn on padded equipment.
- When working out in the weight and cardio equipment areas, No bare feet, open-toed and/or opened- heeled shoes i.e. flip flops, slippers, Crocs ®, slides, socks etc. are to be worn. Closed-toed and closed-heeled shoes are required. It is highly recommended to wear athletic shoes.
Fitness Class Guidelines
- Shoes: Please wear proper athletic shoes designed for specific mode of activity. This is highly recommended for safety. Closed-toed and closed-heeled shoes are required. It is highly recommended to wear athletic shoes.
- Dress Code: Please wear athletic attire appropriate for class format.
- Food/Drinks: No food is permitted in the Fitness Center; water bottle containers are recommended.
- Age: No one under the age of 18 can use the facility or attend fitness classes unless they are enrolled in a class.
- Childcare: LSC-Montgomery Fitness Center does not offer childcare. Children may not accompany you in the Fitness Center.
- Personal Items: The LSC-Montgomery staff is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Locker room facilities are provided. All personal items can be put in a locker. Do not to leave valuable items unattended.
Backpacks, gym bags and purses are not permitted in the cardio/ weight room areas.
- All lockers are for DAY USE ONLY. If items are left overnight, locks will be removed, and locks and items discarded.
- Bring your own lock to secure the locker to store items.
- Do not leave valuables (i.e. jewelry, wallets, purses, etc.) in lockers unprotected.
The Fitness Center is not responsible for items left in lockers. The Fitness Center employees will not accept responsibility for watching or handling personal items. LSC-Montgomery and the Fitness Center or any of its employees are not responsible for lost or stolen items.
- Supervised student organizations and/or other organizations may reserve the use of the facility via a request placed through the LSC-Montgomery Room Reservation Coordinator and Wellness Center full-time employees.
- Use of the sound system by non-employees is prohibited.
- No food is allowed in work-out facility areas. Water is provided.
- The use of tobacco, alcohol or drugs is prohibited in the Fitness Center.
- Unauthorized video recording or photography is prohibited.
- No personal training for compensation is permitted in the LSC-Montgomery Fitness Center.
