The Developmental Studies department at Lone Star College-North Harris offers pre-college level courses in reading and writing.

The central mission of the Developmental Studies department is to help students attain the reading and writing skills necessary to succeed in college-level courses.

The department currently offers two levels of developmental English courses:

Level One

English 0302 Integrated Reading and Writing

Level Two

English 0219 (to be taken with English 1301)

English 0119 (to be taken with English 1301)

Students are placed into the appropriate courses based on their scores on the TSI placement exam.
