The Developmental Studies department at Lone Star College-North Harris offers pre-college level courses in reading and writing.

The central mission of the Developmental Studies department is to help students attain the reading and writing skills necessary to succeed in college-level courses.

The department currently offers two levels of developmental English courses:

Level One

English 0304 Developmental Reading I
English 0306 Developmental Writing I

Level Two

English 0309 Integrated Reading and Writing II

Students are placed into the appropriate courses based on their scores on the TSI placement exam.
