The LSC-UP Accounting & Business Organization promotes scholastic study and practice of accounting through speaker events, networking, internships and employment opportunities, community service and leadership skills development.
Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Training
The VITA program is an IRS initiative created to offer free income tax preparation and e-filing by IRS Certified Volunteers to people who need assistance in preparing their own taxes which includes:
- low-to-moderate income individuals
- persons with disabilities
- limited English-speaking taxpayers
Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Training
Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Training sessions are designed to prepare volunteers to successfully pass the required exams and to get IRS certified as a tax greeter or a tax preparer. Every tax preparer must be certified at the Advanced level. The volunteers will also have an option to earn Military, International, and Foreign Student certifications. VITA Training sessions are offered during the months of November and January.
LSC-UP 2025 VITA Site
The IRS certified volunteers will prepare and file income taxes for individuals with an adjusted gross income of $67,000 or less for free.
Site Hours:
Tuesdays: Feb. 4 - Apr. 15 | 1 - 7 p.m.
Saturdays: Feb. 1 - Apr. 12 | 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
