URI Programs and Events

The Undergraduate Research Institute invites faculty to nominate students to submit their work for a poster session and exhibit celebrating academic excellence. This event will provide an opportunity for students across disciplines to highlight their academic work in a concise, visual presentation. Projects as diverse as art portfolios or pieces, science models, and/or audio/visual projects are welcome in addition to traditional posters. Students chosen to participate should be available during the session to answer questions about their projects. The poster session and exhibit will be held in the Spring of each year during Celebrating Student Excellence week.

  • Celebrating Student Excellence Week is typically the last week before finals in the spring semester. The date, time, and location for the Spring 2025 Student Excellence Exhibit will be determined in February 2025.
  • Faculty can nominate any student work that they consider to be excellent. Student work can be from prior semesters, however work should be from students who have attended Lone Star College - Montgomery.
  • Students will receive a follow up email from the Undergraduate Research Institute (URI) asking them to accept their nomination, in addition to asking if they need any additional resources or assistance such as help creating a poster or helping them decide the best way to display their work.
