Professor Winters earned a BA in Linguistics from the University of California at Berkeley and an MA in Education-ESL from Stanford University.  She has taught ESL to adults in Mexico, to technical students at Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and to international students at the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee.  She is currently a professor of ESL at North Harris College.
