LSC-University Park to host 2023 Workforce Open House on May 4

Attendees can explore a range of degree paths, fast-track certificates, and industry-specific training programs designed to help students succeed in today's fast-paced job market.

The open house takes place Thursday, May 4, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. It features information on programs including Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Programming, Engineering & Automation, Energy & Machining, Data Analytics, and more. Additionally, expert LSC-University Park faculty and staff will be on hand to supply program details and answer questions.

LSC-University Park's Workforce programs offer students a concentrated, career-focused education with a wide range of training options to help develop the skills and knowledge needed to land in-demand jobs in Texas' growing industries, often in as little as one year. In many cases, workforce program certificates are stackable, meaning more than one certificate can be earned while working toward an associate degree in a specific field.

"At LSC-University Park, we're committed to helping our students succeed in their careers," said Dr. Steven Kahla, Vice President of Instruction for LSC-University Park and Dean of Workforce. "Our Workforce programs are designed to provide students with the specific, marketable skills they need to excel in their chosen field. We're excited to showcase our programs at the Workforce fair and help attendees find the right path for them."

The open house will be held in the Lone Star College-Energy & Manufacturing Institute (LSC- Energy & Manufacturing Institute) at 11521 Compaq Center West Drive, Houston, TX 77070. The event is free and open to the public.

Admissions, Advising, Financial Aid, and Veteran Services representatives will be at the event to answer participants' questions. Attendees can also explore LSC-Energy & Manufacturing Institute's state-of-the-art facilities, including classrooms, labs, and simulation environments that simulate real-world workplace settings.

LSC-University Park offers flexible scheduling, low tuition, financial aid and veteran assistance, workforce certificates, associate degree, and bachelor programs. Student success resources include four academic tutoring locations and access to a state-of-the-art library.
