LSC-Tomball Theatre to Hold Open Auditions for "The Music Man"

The Lone Star College-Tomball Theatre Department will hold open auditions for its summer musical production of “The Music Man” on Thursday, May 2 at 5:30 p.m., and Saturday, May 4 at 10 a.m. in the Performing Arts Center.

Auditions are open to students and community members. Those attending the audition should be prepared to read from the script as well as learn and perform a song and dance from the musical. The performance runs July 11-14.

“The Music Man,” follows fast talking traveling salesman Harold Hill as he cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys' band he vows to organize - this despite the fact he doesn't know a trombone from a treble clef. His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian the librarian, who transforms him into a respectable citizen by curtain's fall.

For more information on the open auditions, call (281) 357-3654 or e-mail Sherri.R.White@LoneStar.edu. LSC-Tomball is located at 30555 Tomball Parkway, at the intersection of State Highway 249 and Zion Road.
