Free L.I.F.E. Lessons Continue at LSC-CyFair

Learn about the library’s audio books, a secret family Russian soup recipe, personal Pearl Harbor stories and holiday ornament fun at the upcoming November and December workshops.

Lone Star College-CyFair’s Learning, Inspiration, Fellowship, and Enrichment (L.I.F.E.) programs are free and held Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the library (Room 131 unless otherwise noted) at 9191 Barker Cypress.

• Nov.  16 Audio Books at the Library: Dorrie Scott gives an update about Kindle, the Nook, and all the great free audio books at the library.

• Nov. 30 Vegetable Soup, Russian Style: Savor the flavor and the goodness of genuine Russian Borscht. Dr. Anna Apple Schmidt brings a little warmth to the season with her secret family recipe.

 Dec. 7 The Courageous of Pearl Harbor: It is the 70th anniversary of Pearl Harbor. Professor Sandra Harvey went on an NEH grant and studied Pearl Harbor eye witnesses. View pictures and personal stories of those who were there.

• Dec. 14 Shrinky Dinks with Tracy and Rose: Get ready for the holidays with some decorating fun. Embrace your inner child with Shrinky Dinks for holiday ornaments.

There are no programs Nov. 23, Dec. 21, Dec. 28, 2011 and Jan. 4, 2012 due to the holidays. Programs will resume Jan. 11, 2012.
