Open Doors. Open House. Lone Star College-Conroe Center Hosts Community-Wide Celebration for New Campus

Free Event and Campus Tours on January 14

It’s official—we’re here in Conroe! The brand new 83,000-square-foot Lone Star College-Conroe Center is finally completed with doors opening for classes on January 18, 2011. To celebrate, the entire community is invited to check out the state-of-the-art campus during a free open house celebration on Friday, January 14, 2011, from 1-5 p.m.

The celebration will include campus tours, light refreshments, college giveaways, prizes, and more! Plus, K-Star Country radio station will be broadcasting live from the campus parking lot during the festivities.

Located in Conroe at 777 Conroe Park North Drive, about 2.5 miles east of I-45 off of FM 3083, the new LSC-Conroe Center offers a full range of credit courses, workforce certificates, continuing education programs, and GED certification. In addition, the campus has its own bookstore, library, and testing center, as well as student success services such as financial aid and tutoring.

The new LSC-Conroe Center campus is the result of a partnership between the Greater Conroe Economic Development Council, the city of Conroe, the Conroe Industrial Development Council, and the Greater Conroe/Lake Conroe Area Chamber of Commerce, who all worked extensively with the college to help facilitate a land deal that would provide adequate space for the center.

Now a full-service college campus, the new LSC-Conroe Center has almost tripled in size from its previous location near downtown Conroe. It includes a 67,000-square-foot academic building with ample classroom and lecture space, high-tech computer labs, and specialized science labs. In addition, the campus has a separate 16,000-square-foot industrial building with innovative training equipment for programs such as automotive technology or welding.

With convenient scheduling options, LSC-Conroe Center is the perfect place to work toward a two-year degree or train for an in-demand occupation.
