A Week of Music at Lone Star College-Montgomery

Lone Star College-Montgomery is hosting two concerts this week! First, the Jazz Ensemble will perform a concert on Tuesday, December 7, at 7:30 p.m., and then the Symphonic Band will perform a concert on Thursday, December 9, at 7:30 p.m. Both concerts will take place at the main stage theatre (Building D) and are free to the community.

“The jazz band will present a raucous night of rock and roll, rhythm, and blues and funk classics,” said Kris Chapman, director of bands at LSC-Montgomery. “The concert will showcase the energizing electric guitars, grooving bass lines, insistent back beats, and catchy melodies that gave voice to Americans throughout the last half of the 20th century.”

Then, featuring music by Gustav Holst, Ralph Vaughn Williams, and many others, the Symphonic Band will perform their final concert called “The Wind Band Legacy.”

“The symphonic band will present a concert that celebrates the wonderful composers and performers who have made the modern wind band what it is today,” said Chapman.
