Multi-Talented Writer, Guitar-Maker Visits Campus March 11

The Writers in Performance series welcomes Bryce Milligan, editor/publisher, novelist, poet, and yes—instrument maker—to read excerpts from his work on Thursday, March 11, at 7 p.m., in the Lone Star College-Montgomery library (Building F).

A multi-faceted writer, Milligan is the author of four historical novels and short story collections for young adults, including the award-winning With the Wind, Kevin Dolan (Corona Publishing, 1987), as well as five collections of poetry. His thousands of articles, essays, and reviews have been published widely in major magazines and literary journals.

Currently, he is editor/publisher of Wings Press, a San Antonio-based literary press agency that was recently featured in Poets & Writers Magazine as one of America’s finest independent presses.

Among his passion for writing is a passion for all things creative. Throughout his life, Milligan has been a folksinger, a carpenter, a rare book appraiser, a college English and creative writing instructor, a playwright, an arts administrator, and a maker of guitars, drums, and dulcimers.

Milligan holds a master’s degree in language and linguistics (anglo-Saxon and Old Irish) from the University of Texas at Austin.

He and his wife live in San Antonio.
