LSC-Tomball to Host Veterans Day Celebration

Lone Star College-Tomball would like to invite the community to attend the first annual Veteran’s Day Celebration on November 11, 2009 in the Commons area of the college.

“On behalf of the faculty and staff of Lone Star College-Tomball, it is our privilege to honor the brave women and men who have served America and protected our freedoms,” Dr. Susan Karr said. “We owe the many soldiers who have answered the call of duty a debt of gratitude that can never fully be repaid. We must also acknowledge the sacrifice of the families who have sent their sons and daughters to fight in harm’s way on foreign soil.”

The brief program begins at 12:30 p.m. and will feature the U.S. Army Color Guard, a wreath presentation honoring Veterans who have given their lives for our country and a moment of silence. On display throughout the day will be military vehicles and military medals including the Congressional Medal of Honor and a Purple Heart.

After the ceremony, guests are invited to stay for refreshments and a movie in honor of our Veterans.
