LSC-Tomball Invites Public to Community Conversations

Lone Star College-Tomball invites the public to participate in Community Conversations on Nov.  12, from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. in the Elmer L. Beckendorf Conference Center.

Reservations are required and may be made by calling 281.351.3321 or responding online at http://www.lonestar.edu/community-conversations.

Conversations is an outgrowth of the Achieving the Dream initiative, a nationwide program whose goal is to make it possible for all first-time community college students to succeed.  The initiative is particularly focused on student groups that traditionally have faced significant barriers to success.

This event is an integral part of the work that LSC-Tomball is doing through Achieving the Dream to close achievement gaps on campus. The goal is to use the community input to help refine policy, build support for the college and its students, and to forge new community relationships and partnerships.

“Lone Star College-Tomball is excited to host this event,” said Dr. Susan Karr, President of LSC-Tomball.  “We are looking forward to sitting down with a diverse cross section of the community to see where we may be falling short and to get a different perspective on how we can help the students that we serve succeed.”
