Student Caps & Gowns
All students participating in the LSC-Montgomery Commencement ceremony must wear a black cap & gown. Caps & gowns may be purchased from any vendor including the campus bookstore, or can be borrowed from a previous graduate or family member. Commencement Ceremony
Come join your fellow Maverick graduates at Commencement! Commencement is a graduation ceremony for graduates, their families, faculty, and staff. It's a great opportunity to celebrate the hard work, dedication, and achievements of our students. Pick up your cap & gown and get ready to walk across the stage!
2025 Commencement Includes: Lone Star College students who complete degree or certificate requirements during the prior fall, current spring, or following summer sessions are invited to participate in the commencement exercises.
- Fall 2024 Graduates
- Spring 2025 Candidates = Students who applied by April 1, 2025.
- Summer 2025 Candidates = Students who applied for graduation and registered for any remaining classes by April 1, 2025

Diploma Information and Mailing
Graduates and Graduate Candidates who participate in Commencement will receive a diploma cover at the ceremony. Graduates will receive their diplomas through the mail to the address specified on the graduation application after successful completion of degree requirements are verified. Diplomas are printed at our system office and 6-8 weeks after the degree is posted to the academic transcript. Contact our campus Graduation Specialists (mc-graduation@lonestar.edu) for more information.
Reminder! Attending the Commencement ceremony does not automatically mean that you have met all requirements to complete your degree and/or certificate program. Please check your student account or meet with an academic Advisor to ensure that you've met all the requirements for the completion of your degree plan/program.
Replacement Diplomas
Replacement diplomas requested one year after the posted graduation date will incur a $25 fee. To request a Diploma Reprint, complete the form and submit payment to the campus Business Office. Once completed, please email your completed form and a copy of your payment receipt to our campus Graduation Specialists (mc-graduation@lonestar.edu) for processing.
