Do I need to take a placement test?
State Law requires all students attending public institutions of higher education be assessed in reading, writing and mathematics before enrolling in classes. Students scoring below the placement test standards are required to enroll in developmental courses which do not apply towards a degree or certificate. For more information, visit Placement Testing or speak with an advisor.
How and when do I register for classes?
Registration and payment due dates are listed on the Academic Calendar for each semester. Students can register online through myLoneStar (Enrollment > Add Classes) if they've completed the required checklist steps, have no holds on their student account, and have completed the required pre-requisites, if any. Registration can also be done on campus with an advisor. Visit the Advising page for hours and contact information.

If the class has already begun, the student can drop the class by downloading a Schedule Change form from the Lone Star College web site at https://www.lonestar.edu/registration-forms.htm. Follow the example to complete the form correctly and see an advisor at the campus to have your course(s) dropped prior to the last day to withdraw for that class. Please ask the Advisor to provide you with a copy of your schedule to ensure your class(es) have been dropped.
