- Obtain Official Transcripts

- Placement Testing/Confirm TSI Exemption
- Review education benefits you quality for - Veteran Education Benefits
- Apply for VA Benefits
- Apply for Hazlewood
- Meet with your Campus VA Advisor in person or virtually via Zoom.
- Register for classes
a. To view and register for classes select "Manage Classes" tile from the "Student" tile in myLoneStar. - Discuss Prior Learning Assessment (PLA)
- Submit required documents via myLoneStar student portal and click on the Veterans Self Service tile to upload your GI Bill ® required documents and/or Hazlewood required documents
- Submit Request for Certification
a. Submit your request each semester after you register for classes before the priority due date for each semester

Students receiving benefits from Veteran Services must comply with VA rules and regulations. To avoid overpayment, all transcripts must be evaluated, and credit(s) applied prior to certification of courses for benefits. Students are highly encouraged to have their military transcript evaluated to register for classes.

Compliance
Title 38 US Code 3679 subsection (e) Compliance
In accordance with Title 38 US Code 3679 subsection (e) Lone Star College (LSC) adopts the following additional provisions for any students using U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) Post 9/11 G.I. Bill® (Ch. 33) or Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment (Ch. 31) benefits, while payment to the LSC is pending from the VA.
LSC will not:
- Prevent the student's enrollment;
- Assess a late penalty fee to;
- Require students to secure alternative or additional funding;
- Deny access to any resources (access to classes, libraries, or other institutional facilities) available to other students who have satisfied their tuition and fee bills to the College.
To qualify for this provision, such students may be required to:
- Request Certification
- Provide Chapter 33 Certificate of Eligibility (COE) (or its equivalent) or for Chapter 31 VR&E contract with the school on VA Form 28-1905 by the first day of class
- Provide additional information needed to certify the enrollment as described in other institutional policies properly
