Michael Fleming taught orchestra in the Texas Public schools for 25 years. Upon retiring in 2006 he began a new career arranging works for orchestra and writing various things; a text book for new teachers - tentatively titled How I Did It, a screenplay that will probably never make it to the silver screen, a column or two (or three) ... just various things. He still works with public school orchestras as a guest clinician and advisor. During his teaching career he was also a freelance bassist and he continues that today. He has taught private bass lessons at Sam Houston State University and Texas A&M University.
