Supply Chain Industry Organization (SIDO)

The Supply chain industry and Distribution Organization was established in order to promote involvement between logistics students and industry professionals. The goal of SIDO is to enable the student to have greater connections to the supply chain industry and gain a better understanding of the world of logistics technology, especially through interaction with Houston-area logistics professionals and organizations.

Through SIDO, students gain a greater exposureto the basic principles of physical distribution, logistics, traffic and transportation, industrial marketing, communication strategies in advertising, industrial sales, consumer sales, transportation, quality control, operations control, and purchasing/procurement. These are the same principles that are covered in the Basic Logistics Certificate, First Line Logistics Certificate, and AAS degree in Logistics Management.
