LSC-CyFair Workforce Dual Credit Programs

Frequently Asked Questions about Workforce Dual Credit

Dual Credit provides an opportunity for students to earn both high school and college credit for certain courses. Courses may be taught on their high school campus, online, or at Lone Star College. For more information, check out LSC-CyFair Dual Credit and Dual Credit at-a-Glance.

Workforce courses (those labeled as WECM in the catalog) are created for a student to either earn a certification or Applied Associate of Science (AAS) Degree. Most of these certifications and AAS degrees are designed for the student to enter the workforce upon completion and are not as easily transferrable to a 4-year institution.

LSC-CyFair offers dozens of Certificates and AAS degree options. We are always looking to expand our dual credit workforce offerings. Currently, the following programs are available for Dual Credit:

  • Architectural Design Technology
  • Business Operations
  • Computer Networking Analyst – CISCO
  • Computer Science, AS
  • Emergency Medical Services Professions
  • Associate of Arts in Teaching (AAT)
  • Visual Communications (Video & Post Production Track)
  • Welding Technology

We proudly partner with Cypress-Fairbanks ISD.

Dual Credit Tuition is offered at a steep discount. Please see the table below to compare Dual Credit Tuition to In-District and Out-of-District tuition.

FAST is a new financial aid program through HB8 that would allow “educationally disadvantaged” students to enroll in dual credit classes at no cost to them. Students eligible for FAST are able to enroll in Dual Credit courses without paying for tuition, books, or any necessary supplies.
