Lone Star College (LSC) partners with SIU for a smooth transfer process. You can choose from various online SIU degree programs, offering flexibility to fit your schedule.
SIU is ranked among the top 5% of U.S. higher education institutions for research. By joining an LSC associate program with an SIU degree pathway, you can potentially benefit from no out-of-state tuition and up to $8,000 in scholarships.
Saluki Step Ahead
The LSC and SIU 2+2 years = bachelor’s degree pathway, called Saluki Step Ahead, offers an $8,000 scholarship for select online programs. Here’s how it works:
- Step 1: Apply to Saluki Step Ahead: You can apply as early as your first year at LSC, to be entered into the Saluki Step Ahead program with SIU.
- Step 2: Associate degree Completion: You can complete your associates degree within 2 years at LSC.
- Step 3: Seamless transfer: Once you have graduated with your associates degree you can seamlessly transfer to SIU to complete your final 2 years, earning a bachelor’s degree with SIU.
- Step 4: Advanced Degrees: Beyond the bachelor’s level, students can pursue master’s and doctoral degrees at SIU.

Online at SIU
You can also explore the full list of online undergraduate and graduate programs offered by SIU. However, these programs do not currently offer a transfer plan with LSC. These additional online programs follow the same rigorous curriculum as on-campus degrees, so your diploma and transcripts will bear the prestigious Southern Illinois University name.
