Recurring Activities
Please Note: Most Events Require Free Tickets Available in the Children's Library Starting One Hour in Advance of the Programs.

Baby Time is a year-round program on Mondays at 9:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m., and  11:30 a.m. (except August 26). For children up to 24 months old, it features stories, rhymes, and songs. Playtime after the stories may include parachutes, toys, or musical instruments. Limited to 25 children per session.

Monday at the Movies is a summer program on Mondays at 2:00 p.m. (except June 3). For all ages. Limited to 80 people - children and adults get tickets.

Toddler Time is a year-round program on Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m., and 11:30 a.m. (except August 27). For children 2 to 3 ½ years old, it features books, fingerplays, songs, movement and occasional crafts. Limited to 30 children per session.

Tween Craft is a summer program on Tuesdays at 2:00 p.m. For children 10-12 years old, it features creative summertime activities. Meet in the Kids' Corner. Limited to 35 tween children who are participating in the event.

Baby Pajama Boogie is a year-round program once each month on a designated Tuesday night - summer 2019 = June 4, July 2, July 30, and August 6 - at 6:00 p.m. For children up to 24 months old, it features stories, music, and movement to wiggle and giggle the way to bedtime. Limited to 25 children.

My First Book Club is a year-round program usually on the third Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. except August 2019 (registration required starting at 12:00 p.m. at the children's reference desk starting on the previous month's meeting day). For children ages 7-9 years, the group discusses a selected book at each meeting. Limited to 39 children.

Family Story Time is a year-round program on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month at 6:30 p.m. except August 27 (limited to 35 children) and first Saturday of the month at 10:30 a.m. except June 1 (limited to 35 children). For all ages, it features stories, songs, fingerplays, and occasional crafts. An age-appropriate activity or craft will be available for ticketed children.

Preschool Time is a year-round program on Wednesdays at 9:30 a.m./10:30 a.m./11:30 a.m. (except August 28). For children 3-6 years old, it features stories, songs, fingerplays and occasional crafts. Limited to 35 children per session.

Tween STEM is a summer program of exciting STEM activities on Wednesdays at 1:00 p.m. in the Kids' Corner. For children and teens 10-12 years old. Ticket distribution begins one hour before start time. Limited to 20 tweens.

Wednesday Activities is a summer program with a different activity every Wednesday afternoon starting at 2:00 p.m. with additional times as noted on the calendar. Pick up tickets and a map at the Kids' Corner, then meet in the Conference Center 152.

Fun with Family is a summer program on Thursdays at 9:30 a.m. except July 4. For all ages, it features stories, songs, rhymes, and a craft or activity. Limited to 30 children.

Spanish Story Time/Sesión de Cuentos en Español is a year-round program on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. For children 2-6 years old, it features stories, songs, fingerplays, and occasional crafts. Limited to 40 children per session. (Historias, rimas y canciones en Español (edades 2-6). Manualidad apropiada a la edad para los niños con ticket, o actividad después de las historias - límite: 40 boletos por sesión.)

Thursday Family Fun Activities are summer programs on Thursdays starting with Craft Time at 5:30 p.m. followed by Family Fun Night at 6:30 p.m. to cap the evening. For children of all ages. Limited to 40 tickets per session.

Wii Dance for Kids is a year-round program on the first Saturday of the month at 11:30 a.m. except June 1 with age-appropriate songs and movement. For children of all ages. Limited to 35 children.

More Details on Program Guidelines:

• Tickets for programs are free and available 1 hour prior to the program at the children’s reference desk unless otherwise noted.
• Tickets will not be available 10 minutes after any program as started.
• Tickets are limited to the numbers listed and are available on a first-come basis. The age-appropriate child must be present to get a ticket for the ticketed program.
• We do require that 1 child per family be within the age range of the program in order to attend.
• Tickets will be given out to the child(ren) within the age range of the program. Siblings can attend as a guest. Crafts will be given to the ticketed child only. 
• Day care groups - Please call 281.290.3211 to schedule a visit. 
• Information for Persons with Disabilities  - Harris County Public Library will make reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities who are interested in attending library programs. To make a request for yourself or someone you know, please notify the Branch Librarian two working days in advance of the program.
