Scholarship recipient: In her own words
What did it mean to me to receive a scholarship from the foundation? Well, I do think about it often, about how grateful I am to receive such a generous gift. I know that from the donations of others, they believe in me which is encouraging for me to believe in myself. This scholarship helped me in so many ways. With the help of this scholarship, I am able to give back to my school and community, giving my time to help with programs and events that happen on campus, which otherwise I would not be able to. With time less spent stressing over if I have the funds to pay for a class, I am able to work along professors/mentors on projects that give me leadership and team building skills. With the help of this scholarship, I have been able to do so much more than I thought I could in such a short time. The reason why is because someone believed in me. For them to look back on all the things I have done for the past year and a half, I would only want them to say it was worth it. After this semester I will transfer to finish my bachelor's degree in finance. I plan to further my degree to get my masters with a concentration in global management.
