English for Speakers of Other Languages
Continuing Education (CE) ESOL courses give students the knowledge and skills they need to become successful English language speakers. Competency based lessons cover everyday topics such as school, business, financial literacy, community services, work, health, and emergencies. CE ESOL students will improve their reading, writing, speaking and listening skills and will gain confidence when communicating with other English speakers. ESOL courses are offered at no cost for students. A orientation and test are required prior to registration. Adult education and Literacy services are provided with support from the Gulf Coast Workforce Board to help individuals find a job, keep a job, or get a better job. Courses are designed for basic to advanced English language learners.
Program Options
Adult Education and Literacy (AEL)
Designed for students interested in learning and improving their English language skills in a more gradual manner. Students will be enrolled in the appropriate class based on placement test results and space is limited
