Lone Star College now has a variety of options for classes this semester with expanded offerings of face-to-face classes while continuing to provide hybrid and online courses to meet student needs. LSC students will have three class options: in-person classes that take place entirely on campus; hybrid classes which are a combination of online and face-to-face learning; and online classes which provide a flexible and convenient choice for busy schedules and freedom to self-direct.

Also known as in-person classes, these take place entirely on campus.

OL: Online Your Time
Online classes do not require students and faculty to be in the same room at any time during the course. Students will have deadlines and may have requirements for online interactions during scheduled meetings. Students will engage in their class through myLoneStar, which will require students to have access to a computer and internet. Physical attendance at a Lone Star location is not required for an online course.
OS: Online Live – scheduled, online class meetings required
Online classes do not require students and faculty to be in the same room at any time during the course. However, in these sections, students will be required to block their schedule for real time, virtual meetings reflected in the section meeting times. While these meetings will be online, students should treat them like an in person class commitment. Students will engage in their class through myLoneStar, which will require students to have access to a computer and internet. Physical attendance at a Lone Star location is not required for an online course.
H: Hybrid – Both In Person & Online
Hybrid classes split the course learning experience between both in person and online learning. Students will have required on campus times as reflected in the section schedule. However, they will be on campus fewer hours than an in person course because they will be required to fulfill other parts of their course online through myLoneStar.
IV: In Person through two-way, interactive video
Students will be required to attend class at a specific location during established days/times, but their instructor may be teaching through two-way, interactive video technology from a separate location.
P: In Person
In person classes may also be called "Face-to-Face" in which faculty and students come together in a classroom for their scheduled class time. While these courses are the most traditional form of a class, faculty may also use the online platform to support student learning.
