LSC-Tomball associate degree nursing program application deadline March 17

Published on: January 15, 2014

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, demand for a registered nurse (RN) is expected to increase 19 percent between 2012 and 2020, and in 2012, the median pay for a RN was $65,470 per year.  In response to this opportunity, applications for Lone Star College-Tomball’s Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) program are being accepted from January 15 – March 17.  Students must also submit their Health Education Services Inc. (HESI) admission exam scores no later than March 6.

LSC-Tomball’s two-year ADN program provides graduates with an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree, which makes them eligible to apply for licensure with the state board of nursing and to take the National Council Licensure Examination for RN (NCLEX) to become an RN.

“If you like a challenge, have a desire to help people in times of need, and want a career that offers diversity and stability, then think about nursing.  Registered nurses play a very important role in health care by coordinating patient care, supporting patients and their families, and teaching people how to live healthier lives,” said Catherine Gray, director of nursing programs at LSC-Tomball.
