Beat the crowd and register early for the fall semester at Lone Star College-Montgomery

Fall is right around the corner, and registration is in full swing for the 2014 fall semester at LSC-Montgomery and LSC-Conroe Center.  The 2014 school year will feature new course offerings in live entertainment technology, which has added a video component, automotive technology, and other programs. Classes begin Monday, August 25. more

 


Summer musical offers families a charming story of friendship

The Mainstage Theatre at LSC-Montgomery has been turned into a pop-up storybook as the drama department prepares for its summer musical production of A Year With Frog and Toad. This fun-filled, family musical follows the beloved characters Frog and Toad from the popular children book series of Frog and Toad by Arnold Lobel. more

 


History Professor’s Book Earns Prestigious International Award

Dr. Craig Livingston Honored by the Mormon History AssociationLSC-Montgomery history professor, Dr. Craig Livingston, was recently honored when his latest book was awarded the 2014 Best International Book by the Mormon History Association (MHA). Livingston was presented with this distinction – along with a cash prize – at the MHA annual conference in San Antonio last week. more

 


College’s Music Program Opens Doors for Students at Four-Year Universities

Several graduates from Lone Star College-Montgomery’s dynamic music program are taking their education and experience “on the road” as transfer students. Approximately 20 music students from LSC-Montgomery are transferring this fall to four-year universities to complete a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in the music field. more

 


New Video Component Added to College’s Live Entertainment Program

For those wanting to pursue a career in the film and video industry, the live entertainment technology (LET) program at LSC-Montgomery is now offering a curriculum with a concentration in video with integration into live entertainment. The LET-Video component, an addition to the popular LET program, will allow students to learn the basics of shooting and editing video. more

 


Physical Therapist Assistant Program Yields Successful Prognosis for Graduates

Graduates of LSC-Montgomery’s physical therapist assistant (PTA) program are entering a vigorous healthcare field, securing high-paying jobs, and setting themselves up for a lifelong career helping others. In fact, Dr. Renee Pruitt, PTA program director at LSC-Montgomery, estimated that 75 percent of physical therapist assistants in the local area are graduates of LSC-Montgomery’s program. more

LSC-Montgomery's 2014 Discovery College youth camps provide fun, hands-on learning activities to keep children entertained—and informed—this summer. It begins Monday, June 9, through August 7.
