To provide opportunities for students to become effective leaders and active citizens through programs, services, advising and advocacy, that encourage students to become engaged in meaningful learning experiences.
Involvement in Clubs and Organizations
Students can take an active role by serving as an officer or active member of a club or they can come to two or three meetings per semester - whatever they are comfortable with. These students have opportunities to plan events and projects, lead meetings, speak at events, work with college faculty, staff and administration, participate in campus-wide events, appear in promotional videos and interviews, travel with the club (this is dependent on each clubs budget), gain budget experience, and make friends from all walks of life!
Lone Star Leadership College
Lone Star Leadership College is a six month program that provides an opportunity to educate and mentor emerging student leaders for diverse roles of leadership linking the Lone Star College System (LSCS) and the community by exploring the local economy, government, arts and culture, and more. The goal of the program is to develop and enhance those skills related to student leadership while fostering an appreciation for giving back to the community in which they live. The program begins in October and concludes in April.
