Published on: March 07, 2014Lone Star College-Kingwood’s 2014 Discovery College will provide camps and other fun learning activities to keep children entertained this summer. The program begins Monday June 9 through August 7. LSC-Atascocita Center will offer classes July 7 through July 31.
Courses will be held on a weekly basis on Mondays through Thursdays with morning and afternoon sessions starting at $89.
“Discovery College is a summer youth program that was started more than 25 years ago offering over 45 unique courses,” said Devon Alexander, director of continuing education. “The goal is to provide an opportunity for students to begin thinking about their future college aspirations and to provide a quality enrichment program from the arts to academics in a fun and safe environment,” Alexander added.
Children can choose among fun and educational activities such as: Fractals, Duct Tape Design, Old School Games, Sports Camp, Rubber Band Creations, Cupcake Creations, Lemonade Mogul, Geotech Adventures, Robotics, Junior Veterinarians and many more.
“Enrollment is limited as we only accept paid registrations on first-come, first-serve basis so it’s important to act quickly since Discovery College is so popular,” explained Alexander.
