LSC-Kingwood Invites Public to Patriotic Concert

American FlagThe Kingwood Big Band will celebrate America’s birthday early with a patriotic concert on Saturday, June 29 at Lone Star College-Kingwood.

The Independence Celebration Concert, also sponsored by the Rotary Club of East Montgomery County, will take place at 2 p.m. in the college’s Student-Conference Center. The band will perform patriotic favorites and jazz music from the Big Band era in honor of the Independence Day Holiday.

“We want people to come out on June 29 and enjoy a wonderful concert presented by the LSC-Kingwood Big Band, under the direction of Alfredo Vélez, in honor of our country’s birthday,” said Dr. Suann Hereford, counselor and professor in the Health Occupations and Sciences division at LSC-Kingwood, and secretary of the Rotary Club of East Montgomery County.

Tickets to the Independence Celebration Concert are $10 for general admission and $5 for students ages 18 and younger. Children under 12 are free. Tickets are available at the door. Proceeds from this concert will benefit LSC-Kingwood music scholarships and other Rotary projects.
