Student Success & Support

This office works closely with the Student Services Council and LSCS personnel in a collaborative and consensus model, seeks to provide services, facilitate activities that promote consistency, equity, and communication between the faculty, staff, and administrators at the colleges; and the students and community served by the System. 

LSCS offers a wide range of activities and services to meet the diverse needs of its students including learning centers, tutoring, placement testing, counseling and career exploration. Unique services for students with disabilities, resources for military veterans and social communities for international students are also available. Mission Statement

The Mission of the Division of Student Success at the Lone Star College System is to achieve excellence in the orientation and transition of our students.

We will do this utilizing a holistic approach and creating a culture of respect that treats students as individuals who are responsible for their choices and their own lives. We will also partner with other agencies, organizations, and groups to develop a community of learners and implement student programs and services that engage students in exploring and developing their full potential.

In pursuit of the this mission, the Division of Student Success at the Lone Star College System has established several goals in order to accomplish our mission:

  • to empower students to make reasoned and well-informed choices;
  • to acclimate students to the campus and surrounding community;
  • to provide information and assistance concerning academic policies, procedures, requirements, programs, and registration;
  • to serve as a campus information and referral agent;
  • to promote faculty leadership and involvement;
  • to promote student leadership and involvement.
