Spring 2013 Commencement Speaker Contest
Contest Description
Lone Star College-CyFair (LSC-CyFair) is inviting students to submit their personal stories of triumph and achievement as they embarked on their academic journey at LSC-CyFair. The winning submission, as selected by a panel of faculty members, will give the Commencement Speech at LSC-CyFair’s Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at the Berry Center. The winner will also be awarded an iTouch, sponsored by Student Life. The focus of the speech should be on your experiences at LSC-CyFair, including any barriers you overcame and those who helped you overcome them, if any.
Semi-finalists will be notified on March 19, 2013 and invited to give their speeches in front of the selection committee, which will be recorded. The winner will be notified on March 27, 2013.

Qualifications
- Applicant must be a student in good standing with LSC-CyFair and approved to graduate with the 2013 class.
- Applicant must also be willing to work with a speech coach in preparation for the Commencement Speech.
- All entries must be submitted by 6:00 p.m. on March 8, 2013. No late entries will be accepted.
- Speeches should be no longer than five double space pages when printed
