Accreditation

The Lone Star College-Respiratory Care Program number, 200338, AAS Respiratory Care, at Kingwood Campus is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care.

CoARC accredits respiratory therapy education programs in the United States. To achieve this end, it utilizes an ‘outcomes based’ process. Programmatic outcomes are performance indicators that reflect the extent to which the educational goals of the program are achieved and by which program effectiveness is documented.

Title IV Statement

Graduates of the Lone Star College – Kingwood Respiratory Care program are eligible to test for credentialing board exams administered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). Credentials earned by the NBRC are nationally recognized and eligible for licensure in Texas by the Texas Medical Board. 

Graduates that wish to practice outside of Texas should refer to specific State licensing agency for requirements.  See link for national State licensing agencies: Respiratory Therapist State Licensure Information

Program Goals

To prepare graduates with demonstrated competence in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills, and affective (behavior) learning domains of respiratory care practice as performed by registered respiratory therapists (RRTs).”
