PLA by College Prep

Lone Star College System and local independent school districts (ISD) have partnered to design high school courses geared to develop college-level mathematics skills and promote academic success. Through prior learning assessment (PLA), successful*completers of these high school courses are eligible for credit to the corresponding LSCS courses: MATH 0308, MATH 0310 and/or HUMD 0330. Lone Star College credit received through this process will post as “CR” on transcripts.

Students are not required to meet criteria and guidelines common to other types of prior learning assessments. However, to receive credit, students must complete the following items within the first long semester after high school graduation:

*Student must receive a “B” or higher to receive math credit and a “C” or “Pass” for student success credit.
