Alex Loera
My name is Alex Loera, I am 19 years old and am currently in my sophomore year of college. I participate in many of the clubs and activities that go on throughout the whole year at LSC-Tomball. As a student worker in the Student Activities offices, I not only help out with the activities that are set up for the students but also make video projects with the purpose to either promote Student Activities or clubs. Besides work, I am also very involved with other organizations in the school. I am the VP of Student Outreach for the school’s Student Government Association, a member of the LSC-Tomball Student Ambassadors and a member of the Student Activities Board (SAB). I have fun working and being a part of all of these organizations in the school.
Chantel Sigman
Hey everyone!
My name’s Chantel Sigman, but most people call me CeeCee. I’m a freshman here at Lone Star College Tomball and, I must say, am truly enjoying every minute. I love being involved, but was unsure of running for a position on the SGA as a freshman until a professor prompted me at the last minute to consider doing so. After thinking about it, I found it truly was something I was interested in and that I also had a lot of ideas. I have always enjoyed actively making a difference, having done so by participating in various volunteer groups and obtaining leadership positions for causes I feel passionate about. Leadership positions I have been dedicated to include: becoming the president of the teen chapter of Hope Heals, a non-profit organization dedicated to Autoimmune Disease education and awareness; earning both my Leadership and Bronze award through Girl Scouts; founding the People-Pet-Plant-Pals, an organization dedicated to helping kids make a deference both locally and globally; being selected as an alternate delegate for the 2008 presidential primary elections; and being elected president of Deseret Homeschool Group’s Teen Leadership Council. Through activities, such as these, I have gained a large amount leadership experience and have dealt with the issues tied to that responsibility. For me though, the responsibilities of leadership have never seemed cumbersome because I genuinely enjoy the benefits I have gained from them. I love planning, I love handling responsibilities, I love learning from and reaching out to people on both a personal and professional level, and because of all this, I will enjoy being Vice President of Internal Communications for our Student Government Association. I have always pushed myself to be proactive and put my heart into everything I do.
Bakshish Singh
My name is Bakshish Singh. Most of my friends call me Bak or B. I joined Tomball college in the fall of ‘08. It has been a great semester for me. I decided to join the student activities board because I was bored of just going to class and then home. I met many people by joining Student Activities Board and made many close friends. Most of them were members of the Schools Student Government Association and Student Ambassador program. Since my friends were constantly involved in many activities in the school, this encouraged me to run for the Historian position in the Student Government. I chose to run for the position of historian because I had a lot of experience when I was in high school. I was a historian in my high school for 2 years and I really enjoyed doing it. Well thats the main reason why I ran for this position and I was selected to become the new Historian.
