Lone Star College-North Harris celebrates Constitution Day Sept. 17

Kenneth Dautrich, professor of public opinion and public policy at The University of Connecticut, will make a special presentation to celebrate Constitution Day at Lone Star College-North Harris on Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 10:30 a.m. in the Academic Building (ACAD-126), located at 2700 W.W. Thorne Drive in Houston.

Constitution Day commemorates the formation and signing of the Constitution of the United States on September 17, 1787.

Dautrich’s presentation,The Future of the First Amendment,” will discuss public opinion about the news media and free expression rights. Dautrich conducts an annual survey on the “State of the First Amendment” for the First Amendment Center and has done extensive research assessing young people’s orientations toward the First Amendment. He has also directed a number of national polls on voting in presidential elections, including a series of polls for TIME Magazine on the 2004 and 2008 presidential elections.
