It’s Not Too Late to Enroll in Late Start Courses for This Fall at LSC-Montgomery

New and current students still have a chance to take classes this fall at Lone Star College-Montgomery as Late Start courses, an alternative to the regular 16-week semester, begin in September and October.

These classes, most of which last eight or 12 weeks each, are a convenient alternative for students who are unable to begin the semester in the typical fashion or need flexibility in their class schedule. Plus, students can register for a Late Start course right up to the first day of each class.

More than 40 Late Start classes are offered this fall in many different program areas, and evening, online and hybrid classes are available. Hybrid courses replace some of the classroom instruction with media-enhanced online learning, greatly reducing the amount of time spent on campus.

Just like the traditional 16-week courses, Late Start offerings are designed to help students achieve academic goals set toward workforce certificates, associate’s degrees, or university transfer.

This fall, LSC-Montgomery offers Late Start courses in the following program areas, which will begin Monday, September 22, or Monday, October 20:
  • Criminal Justice
  • Drama
  • Education
  • English
  • Human Resource Management
  • Visual Communications
  • Computer Information Technology
  • Math
  • Machining Technology
  • Psychology
  • Sociology

  • Speech
Some Late Start courses are also offered at Lone Star College-Conroe Center.
