Lone Star College System to host three career fairs in April

Lone Star College System will offer three career job fairs in April that are free of charge and open to the public. 

These events are hosted by the Lone Star College Office of Workforce Education and Corporate Partnerships and will focus on technical, skilled trades, professional and administrative careers. 

LSC-North Harris will be the site of the first Technical Careers and Skilled Trades Career Fair April 3, from 3:30 – 7 p.m. The second Technical Careers and Skilled Trades Career Fair will be held at LSC-CyFair April 15, also from 3:30 – 7 p.m. 

“Lone Star College is committed to success by training tomorrow’s workforce and then assisting them to find meaningful employment,” said Linda Head, associate vice chancellor of workforce education and corporate partnerships. “This is also a great way for job seekers to hone their job interview skills in a friendly environment.”
Workforce technical careers and skilled trades include Energy/Oil & Gas Technologies, Engineering Technologies, AutoCad Draftsman/Solid Model Design, Manufacturing/CNC, Machining, Land Surveying, Automotive Technologies, Geographic Information Systems, HVAC and Refrigeration, and Professional Truck Driving.

A Professional Careers and Administrative Services Career Fair will be held at LSC-University Park April 29, from 3:30 – 7:00 p.m.

Professional and administrative careers include Nursing, Business Managers, Cosmetology, Human Services, Accounting, Visual Communications, Cisco Networking, Microsoft Networking, Logistics, Paralegal and General Office Support.

All veteran candidates will be offered priority early VIP admission to the career fairs to engage and network with employers and veteran organizations from 3 – 3:30 p.m.

Students and community job seekers will have the opportunity to connect with potential companies. Each career fair will have various employers on hand to discuss employment opportunities within their organizations, benefits, job requirements, skills being sought, prerequisites, and more. 
 
A resume is required for admission and job seekers are urged to bring multiple copies that can be left with employers. They are also encouraged to dress professionally as on-site interviews may take place.
