Fotofest Exhibition Features Houston Photographer

Pillars for Toll Road

Lone Star College-CyFair’s Art Department presents “The Homeland Project” photograph exhibition in conjunction with FotoFest Houston March 4-April 11.

This Bosque Gallery spring exhibition features the work Divya Murthy, an award-winning Houston photographer. “The Homeland Project” consists of a series of panoramic photographs archiving and documenting the transformation and evolution of Murthy’s neighborhood to make way for construction of a toll road and new housing. The series of work called “Disappearing Prairie” and “Pillars for Toll Road” were created over a period of three years during 2004-2006.

Come meet the woman behind the camera lens at a  reception 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 3 in the lobby of the Center for the Arts on the Barker Cypress campus at 9191 Barker Cypress.
