Adjunct Faculty Hiring FairIn response to a growing need for qualified part-time (adjunct) instructors in several disciplines, Lone Star College-CyFair will hold two Adjunct Faculty Hiring Fairs this fall.

The October 12 fair will focus on filling science and technology positions, such as biology, chemistry, computer science, machining, nursing, petroleum technology, physics, and welding. The November 9 fair focuses on all other general academic fields.

Representatives will be on hand to review applicant materials for day, evening and weekend class part-time positions available this spring at LSC-CyFair as well as LSC-Cypress Center. Human Resources staff will also be in attendance to assist with the online application process.

Hiring  fair attendees are encouraged to search for positions and to apply online at jobs.LoneStar.edu using Internet Explorer versions 7 or 8. Attendees are asked to bring several printed copies of their résumé and transcripts as well as in electronic format, such as on a flash drive.

Adjunct faculty hiring is based on student demand. The minimum qualifications to teach in most areas are a masterís degree in the teaching field (for example, an M.S. in Physics to teach physics) or a masterís degree with 18 graduate hours in the teaching field. A criminal background check is also required of all applicants. LSC-CyFair is part of the Lone Star College System and is an Affirmative Action / Equal Employment Opportunity institution.

Both hiring fairs will be held from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the new LSC-Cypress Center located at 19710 Clay Road, Katy, Texas 77449.  For information prior to the fairs, call LSC-CyFairís Manager of Adjunct Support Georges Detiveaux at 281.290.5975.
