Improve Your Health with Flexercise® at LSC-CyFair

FlexerciseInterested in increasing your core, balance, strength and flexibility? Join Vernon Henry at Lone Star College-CyFair for Flexercise® this fall.

Henry will lead a free eight-week Flexercise® series Tuesdays, Aug. 27 - Oct. 8 from 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. in the Conference Center at 9191 Barker Cypress.

Flexercise® is a combination of slow moving stretching, strengthening and martial arts type movements, said Henry. The series is a comprehensive “Body Weight” training program that everyone can do. The weekly classes conclude with proper breathing techniques and silent meditation to reduce stress and increase blood flow throughout the body.

 “My interest in fitness and preventative health developed at an early age after my father died of a heart attack at age 35,” said Henry, who has been a kinesiology instructor at LSC-CyFair since 2006.

One spring participant commented to Henry on how after working out, they left “feeling refreshed” and that the “idea of working out by maintaining balance and proper form was very powerful.”
