Lone Star College-Kingwood’s Dance Department will present its spring dance concert, “Continuum” on May 1 at 7:30 p.m.

Held in the Performing Arts Center Theatre, the performance is a culmination of the semester’s work by LSC-Kingwood faculty and selected students. This year, work will be featured from LSC-North Harris and LSC-Montgomery faculty members as well as from the Kingwood Dance Theater.

“With more than 16 works, including ballet, street jazz, tap and modern dance, there is sure to be something for everyone at this concert,” said Amy Llanes, adjunct faculty of dance.

LSC-Kingwood students performing are Jazmin Estrada, Kiandris Allen, Marc Lopez, Steeva Stephens, Elizabeth Woodson, Ashley Allen, Delana Harvel, Kalee Irwin, Bobby Kaznoon, Samantha Perez, Cori Dalton, Erin Brinkle, Victoria Thigpen, Aydee Guerroero, and Anastasia Bakhalova. Student choreographers, who will present their own works, are Perez, Dalton, Kaznoon, Woodson and Irwin.

The LSC-Kingwood Dance Ensemble’s mission supports dance students in their creation and development of original choreography. Ensemble members will choreograph, rehearse and refine their works with the desired goal of performing in the Dance Department’s concert at the end of each semester. Student members may be budding choreographers, performers or both in a variety of dance idioms. The ensemble also participates in community outreach projects involving dance.

“Ms. Llanes and I are impressed by the depth of material that the students have explored this semester in creating their works.  The students are digging deep to express themselves through dance in new and profound ways," said Trish King adjunct faculty of dance.

General admission tickets for "Continuum" are $8 and will be available at the door. For additional information call 281-312-1656.
