Through a partnership with the University of Houston-Downtown, students can earn a Bachelor’s in Business Administration degree in General Business entirely on the Atascocita campus. “The purpose of the information sessions is to share information with prospective students about what is offered at LSC-Atascocita Center. We will present course and programming information related to the center and UHD,” said David Baty, LSC-Atascocita dean. “Information will also be given on admissions and financial aid.”
The General Business program is offered in the evenings in special eight week sessions. Students will learn an overview of the principles of modern business including accounting, management and basic communication skills. Once students complete their core courses through Lone Star College, they will then begin taking required classes for the BBA program offered through UHD at the LSC-Atascocita Center.
“Our goal is to help inform area communities that they can complete a four-year degree close to their homes,” said Dale Higginbotham, coordinator/advisor of Distance Education at UHD.
Courses in the General Business program include legal environment of business, statistical analysis for business applications, commercial law, small business finance, introduction to supply chain and entrepreneurship.
