Continuing Education Courses at LSC-Montgomery Make Great Gift This Holiday Season

Consider giving the gift of education this holiday season with a continuing education class from Lone Star College-Montgomery, which offers a variety of special interest classes including digital photography. Pictured above from l. to r. are Ada Levins, a digital photography instructor, and Dulce Fulenwider, one of her students. If you’re looking for the perfect gift this season, consider the gift of education with Lone Star College-Montgomery’s line-up of fun, interesting, and affordable continuing education courses.

These courses, which run anywhere from four to 16 weeks depending on the course, cater to a wide variety of hobbies and interests and can seamlessly fit into a busy schedule.

For those interested in a new hobby, consider gifting a leisure class, like Floral Design, Piano or Electronic Music Arrangement, or Web Development or Design. For the active people in your family, check out Tai Chi, Yoga, or Scuba Diving.

If you’re giving a camera as a gift this season (or maybe even received one yourself recently), consider Digital Photography, a hands-on class with tips and tricks to take better photos. Plus, DSLR camera classes are available, too.

Then, if you’re traveling in the near future or just want to learn a new language, LSC-Montgomery offers continuing education courses in French, Italian and Spanish. Classes start in January and at various times throughout the spring, and prices vary depending on the length of class.

And finally, if you have some someone on your list over the age of 50, treat them to the gift of lifelong learning at LSC-Montgomery’s Academy for Lifelong Learning (ALL). ALL members have access to interesting lectures, workshops, seminars, and tours covering a variety of topics including birding, geocaching, the Constitution, or financing long-term care. The program also offers off-site lectures and tours at Jones Forest, Mercer Arboretum, or the popular “Doc Talk” series at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital. ALL membership is $35, and 70 percent of the lectures are free.

Continuing education students benefit from the campus atmosphere, are able to use the resources in the Library, and can enjoy the many free programs and events on campus.
