Annual LSC Foundation golf tournament set for Nov. 21

HOUSTON (Nov. 7, 2011) –  An 18-year tradition continues on Monday, Nov. 21 at The Woodlands Country Club Palmer Course when the annual Lone Star College Foundation Golf Tournament tees off.

The Florida Scramble begins at 10 a.m. with registration, practice and lunch, courtesy of Abby’s Catering, followed by a shotgun start at 11 a.m. Hole-in-one contests, sponsored by Follett Higher Education Group, door prizes and a raffle for a premium driver and set of irons, made possible by Henry T. Brooks, will be featured throughout the day.  The tournament will be capped off with an awards ceremony and dinner at 5 p.m.

“This event is about building community, connecting with our donors, and supporting students,” says Darcy Mingoia, executive director, LSC Foundation. “We are so pleased this tournament has grown into an annual tradition, supported by the community and friends of the Lone Star College System who are committed to helping outstanding Lone Star College students.”

Support for the LSC Foundation is an investment that changes the lives of students.  Mingoia explained that participation in the golf tournament generates scholarship funds, which allows students to attend college and gain the skills necessary to transition to the workforce.
