Deadline to Submit "How My Community College Experience has Influenced My Life" Scholarship Essay is December 9

The Lone Star College Foundation is sponsoring its annual Student Essay Challenge - with a $1,000 scholarship as the reward! Write no more than two (2) pages on the topic “How My Community College Experience has Influenced My Life”. The typed essay is due by 5 p.m. on Thursday, December 9, in the Office of College Relations (Building C, Suite 227), attn: DeAlva Engelhardt. Include a cover page with your name, address, phone number and e-mail. The essay should highlight and detail how your educational experience at Lone Star College has shaped and directed your life. Expressive writing style, grammar, form, and emotional impact are considered. A finalist from each Lone Star College campus will receive a $1,000 scholarship and will read his/her essay at the Chancellor’s Breakfast on Wednesday, January 26, 2011. In order to be eligible for the scholarship, students must have successfully earned their high school diploma or GED certification, and be enrolled full-time (12 or more credit hours) in credit classes at Lone Star College for the Spring 2011 semester.
