Add another gear to your truck driving career with an “Air Break” Certification Course

Air brakes not working properly or out of adjustment are a common reason for truck drivers being issued citations or rigs being put “out of service.” Get the skills, get the certification, and get the job.  Lone Star College-North Harris Transportation Institute has introduced a new Air Brake course. This course will provide operators with the basic knowledge and understanding of how air brake systems work to ensure maintenance and effective operation.  Certification in this course could save driver and owner time and money. It covers air systems with attention to air suspensions and air accessories and the role they play in regards to the integrity of the complete air system. Other course segments include air brake theory, operation, inspection, maintenance and adjustment. Students are required to pass a written exam as well as perform an air brake adjustment.

Upon successful completion students will earn a wall certificate, wallet card, and CEU’s (continuing education units). The course is delivered via multimedia class-room with working displays and cut-away models taught by an ASE master mechanic. Classes are offered bi-monthly on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at a cost of $42. For more information, please call Martin Molina 281.765.7752 or Lorie Qualls 281.765.7751.
