Clerk

General Definition

Primarily performs duties of a support nature to a program/department. Typical duties include record maintenance, preparation of forms. Verification of information, data entry, low level problem resolution. 

General Clerk I

Under direct supervision, performs a variety of routine activities related to receiving, distributing and delivering campus mail, deliveries and general supplies. Performs basic clerical duties including sorting, copying, form completion, as required for activities of department.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience: High School or GED strongly preferred. Reading and math skills. On-the-job training.

General Clerk II

Under general supervision, performs a variety of routine activities related to receiving, distributing and delivering mail, packages and general supplies. Has a thorough knowledge of the college and district to aid in delivery of unclassified mail. Performs receiving clerk and warehouse clerk functions.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience: High School or GED strongly preferred. Reading and math skills. One-three years related work experience.

General Clerk III

Under limited supervision, performs a variety of routine activities related to receiving, distributing and delivering mail, packages and general supplies. Performs clerical duties including sorting, copying, form completion, verification and tracking. Compiles and reports statistics, and costs. Prepares bills and purchase orders in accordance with predetermined budgets.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience: High School or GED required. Three + years related work experience.

Clerk I

Performs a variety of routine services and basic functions relating to (area) Work is performed with some direct supervision. Performs defined duties as required for assigned activities of the department. Prepares reports, data, information in compliance with clear processes and guidelines.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience: High School or GED required.

Clerk II

Performs standard tasks under established guidelines. Working with little supervision position monitors data, equipment, and information. Performs basic functions such as tracking and compiling statistics.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience: High School or GED required. One to Five years related work experience.

Clerk III

With limited supervision performs diverse and often non-routine tasks requiring independent judgment based on knowledge of processes, policies and procedures. May direct work of other clerks or act as an expert.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience: High School or GED required. Associate's degree preferred. Three to Five years related work experience.
