Welcome to my faculty website. During this fall 2023 and spring 2024 terms, I will only be teaching online sections of HIST 1301, as I have a reduced course load while I serve as Faculty Senate President for LSC-Online. Almost all of the materials I assign are available in electronic form, for free, either as Open Educational Resources (OERs) or else through the LSC Library’s online library database, which uses ProQuest Ebook Central and EBSCO. I also assigned a number of films, some of which are available for free through the campus’s subscription to streaming services and databases. Check out my recent blogpost, “The ‘Majority Question’ in Interwar Romania: Making Majorities from Minorities in a Heterogeneous State.” The piece is a contribution to the Myth of Homogeneity (Minority protection and assimilation in Western Europe, 1919-1939) project, a Swiss National Science-funded research project hosted at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, Geneva.
